E3-STEM Student Leader Passport Program

The E3SL Passport Program is a freshman year professional and career development program for E3-STEM Student Leaders, designed to give students the opportunity and incentive to participate in events and activities around campus.

The E3-STEM Student Leader Passport Program is designed to enhance students’ university experience by encouraging and incentivizing students to get involved in professional and social events on- and off-campus. Through participation in the program during freshman year, students will gain a better sense of their personal, professional, and career goals and gain insight on what a successful path towards those goals looks like.

Offices and Organizations

The various offices and organizations around campus are integral to the Passport Program, as their events and programming are open to student participation. These events typically support personal and professional development and students are encouraged to engage with many of the listed offices/organizations and attend a wide range of activities. The Passport Program draws from many development opportunities offered across Rutgers-Camden, including those offered by:

A number of these offices/organizations have opportunities for membership, service, or employment. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities and eventually take on leadership roles when applicable.

Student Requirements

Students are expected to earn 30 points each academic year, split between the fall and spring semesters.

Students may earn points by attending a wide variety of on- and off- campus events. These events have been broken into categories, representative of the skills and values that they emphasis. Students may participate in events across each category or focus on one individual category.

In order to document and track event participation, students will be asked to fill out a monthly Canvas survey. Students will have to record the events that they have attended and submit proof of attendance (picture of speaker, picture of handout, Engage check-in, etc.). The E3-STEM Team will use these surveys to track student point progress.

Participation Incentives

Students who remain active in the Passport Program and earn the required number of points will be recognized and will receive an incentive prize (to be determined)!

Students who earn at least 20 points within one individual category will earn a microcredential and a badge that they can share with their professional network.
