E3SL Peer Mentor Introductions
Have the chance to get to know your peer mentor before the start of the semester! Peer mentors have provided a short biography about themselves, giving mentees the chance to learn more about their assigned mentors.
MEET YOUR MENTOR
E3-STEM Student Leaders will be paired with an upperclassman majoring in a STEM field. Get to know your mentor before meeting them in person! Mentors have different majors/minors, career goals, involvement activities, and academic journeys. Whether you need help developing study skills, joining a student organization, or getting involved in research, learn from your mentor and gain the confidence to take control of your undergraduate experience.

Favorite RUC Experience: Attending the annual symposium at the UPenn Center for Musculoskeletal Disorders! At the time, I’d just graduated from high school with my associate’s degree, transferred to Rutgers, and suddenly I was a junior who barely knew anyone. When I saw the travel award application, I hesitated because it included funding for both me and a faculty mentor, and I wasn’t sure who to ask. The same professor who had encouraged our whole class to apply kept coming to mind, so I worked up the nerve to ask him, and before I knew it, we were on a train to Philly. That trip was the start of a mentorship that has shaped my time here in ways I’ll always be grateful for.
Favorite RUC Event: Biology Day! I got to present my first-ever scientific poster on my research there! I also met some pretty cool people to talk science with. Most importantly, my lab group picture in front of my poster! Definitely a key memory.
